Premier heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration exhibition recognizes company for innovative graphene-based paint.

In recognition for its top-of-the-line graphene-based THERMAL-XR RESTORE HVAC coating, Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd. was awarded the Product Excellence HVAC Award in Australia for an innovative product that could well be the start of a turning point in the industry.

Based out of Richlands, Australia, GMG is a clean-tech company that bypasses the painstaking process of making graphene from graphite in favor of a propriety method of producing high-quality, low-cost, scalable, tunable graphene by reducing methane into its constituent elements – hydrogen, carbon, and some residual hydrocarbon gases.

With this system to develop green graphene, GMG has first targeted the energy savings segment by focusing on graphene-augmented heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) coatings, lubricants, and fluids.

Called THERMAL-XR RESTORE, this HVAC coating is a unique formula that improves the conductivity of corroded heat exchange surfaces and maintains the performance of new units at peak levels. Powered by GMG Graphene, THERMAL-XR RESTORE is a direct-to-metal, water-based acrylic paint specifically designed to adhere to HVAC and refrigeration coils.

Following the successful February launch of this coating under the name CoolWork in North America, GMG has received the Project Excellence HVAC Award for its innovation from the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Building Services Exhibition (ARBS) – Australia's leading event for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and building services sectors.

Held at the end of May, ARBS is where professionals from across the industry connect to explore cutting-edge advancements; network with roughly 350 exhibitors; and interact with more than 9,000 attendees dedicated to shaping the future of the HVAC field.

The ARBS Project Excellence HVAC Award recognizes new technology or re-application of existing technology in product manufacture that demonstrates innovation and fitness for purpose for the air conditioning, refrigeration and building services sector, GMG was chosen due to its THERMAL XR product and technology.

ARBS's website described the company's coating paint as "distinguishing itself in the HVAC&R industry by its innovative approach to enhancing the thermal conductivity of both new and corroded heat exchange surfaces. This system not only coats and protects these surfaces but also restores their eroded thermal efficiency. By integrating the physics of GMG Graphene, the THERMAL-XR process not only improves the heat transfer rate but also significantly reduces power consumption, marking a substantial advance in efficiency. Additionally, the THERMAL-XR RESTORE, powered by GMG Graphene, offers protection against accelerated corrosion for various types of coils, thereby prolonging equipment life and further reducing energy costs."

"This national industry award is really exciting as it shows further progress GMG is making with THERMAL-XR within the HVAC-R industry," said GMG CEO Craig Nicol. "We continue to see various types of industries trialing our product including in the after-market air conditioning, data centers, air conditioner manufacturers, personal electronics, truck and train manufacturers and industrial facilities such as LNG plants."
